Christian Mercy

"I am a Christian, I have Jesus in my heart and he is the only way to salvation, no good deeds will get me to heaven. Now that I have accepted Jesus as my savior I can do what ever I want cause my deeds do not mean crap, All you other religions out there dont know what grace is and you will bow down to Jesus as your Lord or you will burn in Hell for eternity, because my God is Justice"

  1. The Prophet (SAWS)[2] said, “He who shows no mercy to the people, Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, does not show mercy to him.”[3]

Hence, treat people mercifully, so that you deserve the mercy of Allah (SWT)[4], which you are greatly in need of. Mercy grants you salvation on the Day of Judgment. To know if Allah (SWT) will treat you mercifully on that day or not, ask yourself this question: “Am I truly merciful to others?” Observe at this point the connection between being merciful to people in this world and Allah (SWT) being merciful to you on the Day of Judgment. I’d like to draw your attention to the fact that morals are part and parcel of worship! Note the strong relation between morals and religion. See how Allah's mercy, on the Day of Judgment, is mainly a reward to those who have been merciful during their lifetime!

Allah (SWT) says what can be translated as, “He has prescribed for Himself (the) mercy” (TMQ, 6:12). Again the same meaning has been included in another ayah of the same Surah, Al-An'am, "Your Lord has prescribed for Himself (the) mercy…" (TMQ, 6:54). What do you feel when you read this ayah (verse) ? You feel safe and sound that "mercy" is one of the original attributes of Allah (SWT), while "anger" is just a temporary result of our sins.

Allah (SWT) says to the Prophet (SAWS) what can be translated as, “So, in case they cry you lies, then say, ‘Your Lord is The Owner of embracing mercy, and His violence will not be turned back from the criminal people,’” (TMQ, 6:147). What does His mercy embrace? The answer to this question comes in the following ayah, “…My mercy has embraced everything…” (TMQ, 7:156).

  3. Your blog is quite interesting, Toby!

    Analysis:

"I am a Christian, I have Jesus in my heart..." - yes! [Romans 8:9,11]

"and he is the only way to salvation, no good deeds will get me to heaven." - yes! [Galatians 2:16]

"Now that I have accepted Jesus as my savior..." - yes. [John 4:42]

"I can do what ever I want cause my deeds do not mean crap" - no. [Romans 6]

"All you other religions out there dont know what grace is" - not exactly. I'm certain that you (and some other religions) know that grace is God's unmerited favour, however have you ever thought that God's Eternal Life is a Free Gift He offers by His Grace alone - none of your works added - ? [Romans 11:6]

"and you will bow down to Jesus as your Lord..." - yes! [Philippians 2:10-11]

"...or you will burn in Hell for eternity..." - Every single created being will bow down to Jesus as Lord. The reason people will burn in Hell for eternity is because they did not repent and believe in Jesus Christ for Salvation [John 3:36].

"because my God is Justice." - yes, God is Just. [Romans 12:19]

    God bless you!
